Selected writing projects

Born in Florida and raised in North Carolina, Texas, and Kansas, Dan Gunderman grew up loving baseball and his local community theater.

After studying theater/playwriting and literature at Sarah Lawrence College, Dan moved to New York City. In the New York theater world, Dan participated in the 24-Hour Plays and the Dog & Pony variety shows, and was one-third of the sketch comedy trio The Nice Men. He worked for the Jim Henson Company and was creative director at Big Duck, a branding firm that works exclusively with nonprofits.

Dan sits on the board of directors for the Leah Ryan Fund, which provides an annual prize for emerging women, trans, and nonbinary playwrights; awards a commission for women playwrights over 40; and offers grants to writers facing life-threatening illnesses. He moved to Scotland in 2019 and lives in the Scottish Borders with his wife and two dogs. He continues to write and teaches for the Jacob Krueger Studio.
